NYFW MEN’S HIGHLIGHTS: ROCHAMBEAU FALL / WINTER 2016
New York-based brand, Rochambeau, led by design- duo Josh Cooper and Laurence Chandler, give us a one-way ticket to hip-hop heaven with their latest FW16 collection. Staged for a hip-hop house party with dueling DJ’s blaring bass-filled 90’s hits, the atmosphere only complimented the collection inspired by the 1992 film, Juice, starring Tupac Shakur. Clean and minimal, looks offered track pants, puffy-gilets, hoodies and other overside sportswear pieces paired with turtlenecks and button-downs. Oh, let’s not forget the oversized khakis and clean cuts (fades, that is). Favorites were in the outerwear, ponchos and parkas with large hoods and classic varsity jackets — all foolproof for lazy layers. Although simplistic in nature, the brand proves to be one of my new favorites with a burgeoning statement-making appeal in capturing street-culture at it’s essence.
